He spent 6 years practicing at a large, multi-doctor specialty practice in Albuquerque,NM enabling him to increase his medical and surgical skills with companion mammals, as well as avian & exotic pets. Dr. Olkowski quickly gained the reputation of 'the' Bird Doctor of Albuquerque.

In 1989 Dr, Olkowski moved back East and became medical director and owner of CEDARCREST. Also in 1989, Dr. Olkowski attained his first Board Certification Specialty in Companion Animals (dogs & cats), from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP). Dr. Olkowski is one of only 3 Board Certified Avian Specialists in the state of Virginia, and is one of nine Specialists in Canine/Feline Practice for the entire State.  He was the first practitioner in the State to be double Board-Certified in these two practice categories, and still remains the only practitioner in Virginia to be double Boarded in these two Specialties.

Dr. Roudette

Hi, my name is Dr. Amber Roudette. I've wanted to become a vet since I was five years old, and I'm so excited to finally be here!! Born and raised in Richmond, Va., I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Richmond. This past May, I graduated from the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech (go Hokies!). In my free time, I enjoy reading novels, seeing plays and musicals, hiking, and traveling around the country to visit friends and family. I'm excited to see all the wonderful dogs, cats, birds, and exotics at CEDARCREST!
